Motley VINE Coverage Layers
Texas has separate county and state notification paths. VINELink can carry county-jail events from participating jurisdictions. TDCJ custody, parole, and mandatory-supervision events use the Texas Integrated Victim Services System, or IVSS. Mandatory supervision is a form of supervised release required or reviewed under Texas law; it is not the same as an unsupervised sentence discharge.
No official Motley County source established current county VINE participation. Verify coverage in the live selector or call 1-877-TX4-VINE. Search Motley State Custody
A transfer from county custody into TDCJ is not a community release. Search the TDCJ offender interface first, then use IVSS for events and alerts. TDCJ accepts last and first name, TDCJ number, SID number, gender, and race. A unique SID or TDCJ number is safer than a name.
To search IVSS, create an account and use the name, SID, current TDCJ number, or prior TDCJ number. The wildcard character can help with a supported partial match. Select “View Details” to inspect the event grid, then subscribe to the correct record. Registration information is confidential.
TDCJ says its online inmate data are updated on working days and are at least 24 hours old. The search was not shown to be a complete historical archive of every discharged person. Save the relevant agency response and seek a historical record when a released person no longer appears.

Fields vary by the agency feeding VINE. Read labels literally and preserve the source. A “release” event in a notification system should be confirmed with the jail or TDCJ record before stating the reason or destination.

IVSS detail pages can include offender number, intake date, and release date. A projected release date is a calculation, not proof of exit. A parole vote may include future conditions. Actual release and later supervision are separate events.

No current authoritative Texas page established a universal four-digit phone PIN process for Motley County. Motley Transfer Requires Re-Enrollment
This local issue deserves its own check. The official IVSS FAQ warns that a person tracked through county VINE who transfers into TDCJ has historically required a separate IVSS registration. A transfer alert means the person remains in custody. Enroll in the state system with the new identifier rather than waiting for a county release message.
Texas introduced “IVSS Counties” beginning September 1, 2025, according to the TDCJ annual review. That statewide capability does not prove Motley participates or that a specific county registration will carry forward. Check live coverage and the exact record.
The boarded-prisoner arrangement makes this more than a technical detail. A Motley arrest can be listed under a receiving county, return to Motley control, and later enter TDCJ. Keep the county booking identifier, receiving-jail number, SID, and TDCJ number labeled by system so the same person can be traced without merging unrelated records.
Confirm Motley VINE Releases
An alert is fastest when it points to the right custodian. For a county event, ask the sheriff and receiving jail for the book-out time, disposition, releasing authority, destination, and holds. A record stating “released to Motley County” describes a transfer unless the sheriff documents a later community exit. A bond amount does not prove bond was posted.
For TDCJ, compare the event with the offender detail and official records. A projected date can change. A favorable parole code can require a future date or program. VINE Limits Beyond Motley
VINE and IVSS do not serve as federal prison locators. A federal sentence belongs in the BOP inmate locator. “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” establishes exit from BOP only; another system or federal supervised release can follow. Federal pretrial detention may instead involve USMS and a contract jail.
ICE civil detention uses the ICE detainee locator and ERO contacts. Release under conditions, transfer, removal, and delivery to another agency are different outcomes. None should be described as an ordinary Motley community release without official support.
Identity controls remain vital in every system. Prefer booking, SID, TDCJ, BOP, case, or A-numbers. Reconcile names, aliases, age or birth date, offense, court, and dates when a number is unavailable. A notification supplements personal awareness and legal or records work. The originating agency’s record remains the durable proof.

Texas DPS registry data form a narrow, separate channel. They apply only to people who must register under state law. A current registry entry can corroborate a post-release status for that limited group, but it cannot show why or when a person left a Motley hold. Use the jail or TDCJ event for the custody change.
Keep notification records private and focused. Save the enrollment confirmation, event wording, source, and time needed to verify the change. Avoid copying unrelated personal data. If a message and agency record differ by a day, ask about the update cycle before treating either as an error. Alerts can post after the operational event, and TDCJ expressly reports a working-day lag.
An alias should come from a court or custody record, not guesswork. Retry a supported spelling or official number, then use the records-request fallback. Explain which identifier connects the results. This prevents a VINE alert for one person from being attached to another person with a similar name.

IVSS notices can address parole eligibility, Board decisions, bench-warrant release or return, prison release, and discharge dates. Each label has its own scope. Parole eligibility means the Board may review the case. A favorable vote can still carry a future date, required program, or other condition. Neither event proves that release processing is complete.
A prison release event records exit from TDCJ confinement, while parole or mandatory supervision can continue under the Parole Division. Discharge means the stated TDCJ term ended, but the event does not rule out an unrelated matter. Preserve the event name and date rather than translating every notice into “free.” If an expected date passes without a clear event, contact Review and Release Processing and seek the underlying state record.
County alerts need the same care. A county VINE transfer message can mark delivery to another jail, TDCJ, USMS, or ICE. Contact the feeding jail for disposition and destination. When Motley prisoners are boarded elsewhere, also ask the sheriff how its own record closes the local hold. The two records may describe different parts of one custody chain.
